Sustainability Day 2025: 8 practical steps to start your journey now
Today is Sustainability Day, and there’s no better moment to make meaningful progress. When tackling a big challenge, we typically start by harvesting the low-hanging fruit: those easy-to-adopt, budget-friendly actions that deliver quick wins and build momentum for more significant change. Sustainability can sometimes feel like an uphill battle. That’s exactly why focusing on these accessible, practical steps is so powerful: they let companies jumpstart their sustainable journey almost immediately, proving that even small changes can drive significant results. So, instead of waiting for perfect conditions or massive overhauls, why not get started with these proven moves?
Let’s explore 8 simple, scalable solutions we at the Infinite Group have implemented at our own headquarters over the years: easy wins any company can adopt to reduce waste, cut emissions, and create a healthier workplace. Ready to catch them all and take your sustainability journey to the next level?
1. switch to eco soap bars (goodbye plastic and water waste)
Liquid hand soap is typically composed ofup to 95% water and is often packaged in plastic. We replaced liquid soaps with Lesseau bars: nearly water-free, plastic-free, and made in Europe. One foamy bar replaces a 350 ml dispenser, uses far less transport volume, and reduces CO2 from logistics. Employees get a skin-friendly, vegan product; the planet receives less plastic and less shipping weight. (i.e. less fuel, lower carbon emissions)
No behavior change needed, just swap the product and restock smarter.
2. replace bottled drinks with a smartwater tap
At lunch, plastic-bottled drinks were the norm. We switched to an Aquablu tap with 39 healthy water combinations and phased out bottled iced tea as stock ran out. Result: drastically less plastic waste, healthier hydration habits, and lower recurring costs on packaged beverages.
A single installation eliminates ongoing plastic procurement and waste streams.
3. offer a quarterly tire-pressure check for employees
Underinflated tires increase fuel use, wear, and emissions. We offer a quarterly tire-pressure service for all employees, company cars, and private vehicles alike. It improves safety and lowers the commuting footprint without asking people to change how they travel.
Minimal effort, measurable CO2, and cost savings for everyone involved.
4. buy refurbished office chairs instead of new ones
Every new chair has a footprint. We now exclusively order refurbished second-handchairs via a sustainability-focused partner who restores and recirculatesoffice furniture. It’s a direct application of circular economy principles:extend life, reduce waste.
Same comfort and functionality, far lower environmental impact, often at a much lower price point. Just like our Circular IT.
5. open charging stations to employeeswith EVs
We installed multiple EV charging stations across locations and made them available for private EVs, too. This encourage slow-emission commuting and removes a common barrier for employees considering an electric vehicle.
Infrastructure encourages adoption without mandates or incentives for management.
6. power your offices with certified green energy
Our electricity contract is 100% certified EU wind power via PZEM(2024–2026). It’s a fast track to cutting Scope 2 emissions and a visible commitment employees and partners can rally behind.
One supplier decision with outsized impact on your footprint.
7. practice “circular CSR”: donate usable devices
In 2024, we donated approximately 15 iPhones and 45 monitors to Amsterdam organizations supporting people experiencing homelessness (The World House and Straatalliantie). These assets no longer met internal standards but were in good condition, making donation far more impactful than resale or recycling.
Turns “IT clutter” into community valuewhile keeping hardware in use longer.

- Audit “still-good” devices during upgrades.
- Pre-wipe and certify data erasure.
- Build local partnerships with NGOs to streamline recurring donations.
8. empower your clients and partners to act, too
Sustainability scales through education. We, for example, organized a power-efficiency webinar in June 2024 to help clients reduce data center consumption, lower costs, and embed energy-aware decisions into IT operations. This extends impact beyond your own walls and positions your company as a practical sustainability partner.
Copy us :
- Host short, tactical webinars focused on one outcome (e.g., power efficiency, IT lifecycle extension).
- Share checklists and follow-up resources.
- Promote via LinkedIn, newsletters, and customer success teams to maximize reach.
sustainability on a global scale
